Workplace interpretation

Workplace and employee interpretation

Help employees, supervisors, and HR teams communicate across languages during planned workplace conversations and employer-led training.

A workplace request is more than a language pair. The participants, meeting purpose, privacy needs, setting, and schedule all shape the interpreter assignment. Lincua reviews those details with the requesting organization before confirming service.

Communication throughout the employee journey

Employers may request interpretation for HR conversations, new-employee onboarding, benefits explanations, supervisor meetings, workplace policies, or recurring workforce meetings. The employer leads the discussion and makes its own employment decisions; the interpreter communicates what participants say.

For a recurring series, describe the number and timing of sessions rather than assuming the same interpreter can attend every meeting. Lincua reviews continuity requests against availability.

  • HR and employee-supervisor meetings
  • Onboarding and orientation
  • Benefits and workplace-policy conversations
  • Recurring workforce communication

Employer-led safety meetings and training

Safety orientation, workforce training, toolbox talks, and jobsite instruction may require interpretation so employees can participate in the employer's communication. Share the topics, relevant terminology, group size, schedule, and whether demonstrations or employee questions are part of the session.

The employer or trainer provides the content and remains responsible for the instruction, verification, decisions, and applicable obligations. Lincua interprets the participants' communication; it does not provide OSHA certification, OSHA training, legal advice, or a determination that any training requirement has been met.

Prepare the interpreter for the session

Provide an agenda, approved terminology, and any materials through a method agreed with Lincua after the initial request. Explain whether instruction is delivered to one employee, a small group, or several shifts, and allow time for questions and interpretation during demonstrations.

Details that help us plan the assignment

Send the language or languages, date and time, expected duration, workplace location or remote platform, participant count, meeting type, and scheduling contact. Include requested qualifications or interpretation format if your organization requires them.

Keep personnel files, medical information, disciplinary allegations, Social Security numbers, and other sensitive employee details out of the public request. The team can discuss an appropriate next step if additional coordination is needed.

Planning an employee meeting or training?

Share the language, meeting type, schedule, location or platform, and participant count without private employee records.

Request an interpreter

Professional and confidential communication

Interpreters are expected to handle workplace assignments professionally and confidentially. Lincua has confidentiality and NDA requirements; specific terms for an assignment should be discussed with the team rather than assumed from this page.

The interpreter supports communication but does not act as an HR representative, legal adviser, trainer, or decision-maker for the employer or employee.

In-person or remote, based on the meeting

In-person interpretation may be available in Omaha, Council Bluffs, and nearby Nebraska and Iowa communities within approximately 100 miles of Omaha. Remote interpretation may be reviewed nationwide when the meeting, participants, and technology support it.

Tell Lincua whether an audio or video connection is planned. Language, format, schedule, and interpreter availability must be reviewed before confirmation; the separate format guide explains the general differences.
