Medical interpretation

Medical interpretation for clear healthcare communication

In-person, telephone, and video interpretation for scheduled or urgent healthcare communication, subject to language and interpreter availability.

Lincua supports communication among healthcare professionals, patients, families, and caregivers. Medical interpretation may be arranged in person in Omaha, Council Bluffs, and communities within approximately 100 miles of Omaha. Telephone and video medical interpretation may be delivered nationwide when the language, technology, qualifications, and schedule allow.

Healthcare settings we support

Requests are reviewed for the language, appointment type, location, mode, schedule, and any qualification requirements established by the healthcare organization.

  • Hospitals and outpatient facilities
  • Primary and specialty clinics
  • Therapy and rehabilitation appointments
  • Dental and oral-health visits
  • Care coordination and follow-up conversations
  • Other healthcare appointments with defined interpretation needs

Impartial, confidential communication

The interpreter's role is to support accurate communication without adding medical advice, changing the message, or making decisions for any participant. Confidentiality and impartiality expectations are reviewed in relation to the assignment and client requirements.

Lincua does not provide medical advice. Healthcare professionals remain responsible for clinical information and care decisions.

Scheduled and urgent access

One week of notice is preferred for scheduled visits. Telephone or video service may help when travel, timing, or location makes an in-person appointment impractical.

Urgent, same-day, and after-hours requests are considered subject to language, interpreter, mode, qualification, and schedule availability.
